Tekonsha is a well-known brand when it comes to brake controllers as well as any tow wire and for good reason. It's a great brand and the Prodigy P3 is just more proof of that. This is a really nice brake controller that has a digital screen that you can see a lot of different things and it's really easy to use. You have your manual override in a nice easy position here and it allows you to really modulate this as necessary. Where other ones, it's really just a small button. more

Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2022 Ford Transit T250- Video

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller on our 2022 Ford Transit T-250. Now, for this installation, we are gonna be utilizing the etbc 7 to give us a seven way at the back of our vehicle and allow for proper hookup of the brake controller, as well as Curt's wiring pigtail adapter and here's a look at our brake controller inside the vehicle. It just mounts up to somewhere. Inside, we chose to the right of the steering wheel so it's accessible to hit that manual override if we need it, but this is gonna be a pretty standard brake controller. It's gonna be proportional, and that's the big thing here is that, when you press the brakes in your T-250, it's going to match that output on your trailer. more

Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2014 Ford Explorer- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at e-trailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller on a 2014 Ford Explorer. Now, this is a traditional style braking controller, which basically means that you are gonna have a unit mounted up and this one's pretty thin with the bracket, it actually fits pretty well on our explorer here. They have it in a nice spot that's easily accessible for the driver, it doesn't get in the way of anything. And this is gonna be a great brake controller. It plugs in directly to the factory tow package with the adapter harness. And really, it's super easy to gain access to your manual override, it feels really good. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Ford F-150- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the REDARC Tow-Pro Liberty, which is gonna be a great brake controller on a 2017 Ford F-150. If you plan on pulling a trailer with trailer brakes, you are gonna need a brake controller on your vehicle, and if you don't have a factory one, adding a brake controller is very easy to do. And traditionally, you probably know the ones that kind of mount here under the dash, and you've probably hit your knees on them before. Well, REDARC's done a really good job of making a very functional, proportional braking system, all in a small package that gives you a nice clean OEM look. Now using REDARC's custom wiring harness, we we're able to get this installed, plug and play, no splicing of wires, and it's super easy to do, and it may seem like it's small, and doesn't have a readout screen like some of your other brake controllers, but not to worry, this works great. In fact, you can adjust your gain just at the turn of a knob. more

Now this vehicle does have the wiring harness, so you can get the pigtail specifically for this vehicle to make install easier. So this is a proportioning brake controller, meaning the amount that you apply to your vehicle will translate to the vehicle. So it's not an on and off switch, and that's gonna allow for smoother braking in your trailer and vehicle. Now, when mounting this, it's not necessary to be at any specific level, it has 360 degrees to be able to adjust to that. It's important though, that you have it facing straight in the path of travel. more

Hey guys, how's it going Conner here today at etrailer.com we're gonna be taking a look at the REDARC Tow Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller here for our 2013 Ford Explorer. The REDARC Tow Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller is gonna be an excellent option here for our Ford Explorer. Number one benefits we have of the REDARC Tow Pro Elite is we don't have to have some sort of bulky brake controller mounted during the knee of our dash, like we would for the standard brake controller like we see here. Now, if we we're to mount this here it's obviously gonna cut some leg room away, whereas the Tow Pro Elite it's gonna be composed of two components, we have the control knob which is a very small cylinder knob here which is the only part that's gonna be installed on the outside of our dash here. The other part is a control module, that's gonna be installed behind our dash out of sight. So our Tow Pro Elite Brake Controller is gonna be an excellent option, not only in regards to mounting but also in regards to functionality. more

Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2015 Ford F-150- Video

Today, we're going be taking a look at the Curt Echo wireless brake controller on our 2015 Ford F150.Now, the really nice thing about the Echo is that it is a wireless brake controller. So that means we're not going to have to put any holes in our dash, find somewhere to mount our brake controller inside, like the typical traditional style controller. This is just going to plug directly into our fully functioning 7-way, and it'll provide all the braking force we need.We'll go ahead and plug ours into our 7-way. You'll notice right by the door latch here, we're going to have a blue light. That's just letting us know that our Echo is getting power, but you can see that it's not solid. more

Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2013 Ford Van- Video

Rob: Hey everybody, Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller on our 2013 Ford van. The Primus IQ is going to be a really good example of a traditional style brake controller, where we are going to have this small box mounted to the dash. Now I particularly like this one because it doesn't have too many fancy whistles, but it's going to do exactly what we need it to. It's going to send a signal from our van back to our trailer and apply the brakes.What's really nice is this is a proportional brake controller, which means it's going to be sending those signals in the exact same time and intensity that we apply the brakes they're going to send that to the van, opposed to some of the older style ones which we're time delayed, which there was just a preset time and then it would send the brake pressure back and apply the brakes. This is not going to be putting the brakes on if we don't need it. If we're sitting in a stoplight, have our foot on our brake, it's not going to be applying the brakes because it's going to realize that we're not moving. more

Well, in my opinion, you really can't go wrong with the P3, and that's because there's going to be multiple different settings and adjustments. You can really customize it to your particular application, but yet it's still going to be easy to use and not really confusing.For example, on our customer's vehicle today, it's actually a shuttle bus, and so, if you think about it, the weights are going to constantly be changing depending on how many passengers you have inside here, or pulling multiple different trailers. more
